Cheesy, gooey macaroni & cheese; this creamy side dish is sure to be a family favorite! Crisp topping and cheesy crunch is sure to have the whole family coming back for seconds!
Ingredients
1 lb elbow pasta, cooked
¼ cup butter
¼ cup flour
4 cups milk, warmed
1 teaspoon garlic powder
8 ounces mild cheddar
8 ounces sharp cheddar
8 ounces cream cheese
4 ounces parmesan cheese, finely grated
1 cup crushed potato chips
1 cup crushed butter crackers
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons canola oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Add butter and flour to a large pot on medium low heat, stirring frequently until butter is melted and flour smells lightly toasty.
Whisk in warmed milk and garlic powder, continuing to stir as the mixture thickens. When the mixture has thickened, remove from heat. Shred cheddar cheeses and set aside. add in cream cheese and cheddar cheese. Slowly stir until all the pasta is well coated in sauce.
In a small electric chopper or bowl, combine parmesan cheese, potato chips, butter crackers and breadcrumbs. Mix until well combined.
Transfer to your desired baking dish and top with Parmesan breadcrumb mixture.
Bake at 375 for 25-40 minutes until the cheese is bubbly, golden around the sides and the top is golden brown.
Recipe Note
Tempted to use pre-shredded cheese? DON’T!! Pre-shredded cheese can prevent your cheese sauce from being velvety smooth!
Like Spicy? Add Black Pepper or chili flakes to taste!
Want to squeeze in some vegetables? Swap out ¼ of the milk in the cheese sauce for 2 cups of pureed squash! The kids will never know!!
