  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

For the Char Siu Marinade:

  1. In a bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, and rice vinegar. Mix well.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it's evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.

For the Char Siu Chicken in Kalorik Air Fryer Oven:

  1. Preheat your Kalorik Air Fryer Oven to 380°F (193°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  3. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with vegetable oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the chicken thighs in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving some space between them for even cooking. Reserve the marinade.
  5. Cook the chicken in the Kalorik Air Fryer at 380°F (193°C) for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Flip the chicken halfway through cooking and baste it with the reserved marinade.
  6. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it into thin strips.
  7. Serve the Char Siu Chicken over white or brown rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
